OMG! The weirdest and whackiest cars currently on sale in the UK
3rd February 2026 – Searching for a car can be an exciting experience for many - whether it’s wanting to purchase your first car after finally passing your driving test or upgrading your wheels after years of driving a small hatchback. It’s also an opportunity for dedicated car lovers to scroll for hours on their favourite automotive marketplaces to spot fun and quirky cars in existence.
To the delight of car enthusiasts and car buyers alike, Autotrader has launched 13 new categories within a new search filter called ‘Im Looking For’, including an OMG category, which allows users to easily find the most bizarre and unique cars on sale on its platform. The other categories help buyers to find their first car, a family car, a classic car or help users to see cars with big boots.
To celebrate the launch of OMG, the UK’s largest automotive marketplace has rounded up some of the quirkiest and strangest looking cars that consumers can get behind the wheel of:
1969 Reliant Van - £29,950
This 1969 Reliant supervan is instantly recognisable as the bright yellow vehicle was made famous from hit TV sitcom Only Fools and Horses. Featuring the iconic Trotters Independent Trading Co logo on the side and an interesting leopard interior skin to match, the van regularly graced TV screens across the country. The vehicle also includes the registration plate from the famous ‘A Touch of Glass’ episode in which the Trotters flee a mansion after breaking a priceless chandelier.
2001 Corbin Sparrow - £7,950
One of the most bizarre looking vehicles on the platform, the Corbin Sparrow is a rare American three wheeled Fibreglass car that was first produced in the late 90s and has appeared in several feature films including Austin Powers. Likened to a jelly bean due to its rounded shape and striking similarity to the candy shell, the car was originally built as an electric but is now powered by a Honda Silverwing drive unit. With just room for one seat, the Sparrow is perfect for those looking for a quick and easy run around.
1959 Chrysler Windsor - £24,999
The Chrysler Windsor is a timeless American classic and this 1959 model is signed by American media personality Richard Rawlings of Gas Monkey Garage. Featuring an impressive V8 engine and bright pink body colour, the car will no doubt draw a lot of eyes on the road. With the car also being the only one available in the UK and Europe, the lucky person with the keys to the Windsor will own a truly unique car that everyone wants.
1967 Bugatti T35 - £15,000
Known for its elegant design and advanced engineering at the time, the Type 35 is an iconic race car designed by Italian manufacturer Bugatti. A dominant force in racing, the car won over 1,000 races in its time and features a stunning streamlined teardrop-shaped bodyshell. When first produced in the mid 1920s, the Type 35 was the only car that could be driven both on the race track and on public roads. Although a real Type 35 will set you back a hefty amount, this replica version is much lighter on the wallet.
1954 Austin Seven - £13,250
Small, light and efficient, this Austin Seven was a very functional car at the time as it could carry people, luggage and survive the challenging roads in the 1920s. This stunning convertible features a rare straight bulkhead on the lower windscreen, along with a pram style roof that can still protect you even during the rainiest days in Britain.
BAC Mono - £139,000
For those with deep pockets, the BAC Mono is a rare road-legal supercar manufactured by Briggs Automotive Company. The mono is a single seater vehicle featuring a 2.5 litre engine, incredible acceleration of 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and a top speed of around 170mph. Exquisitely engineered, the ultra high tech vehicle delivers an entertaining drive which will make you feel like you are in a Formula One cockpit.
There are currently over 42 million licensed vehicles in the UK and our roads are filled with many established models such as the Vauxhall Astra and Volkswagen Golf. Although it’s nearly impossible to miss these on a daily occurrence, the UK car market also has a small variety of quirky and interesting vehicles that would attract masses of attention if spotted on the roads. Our new OMG category celebrates the weird and wonderful cars available to purchase right now and will likely make you lose a few hours of your life to the never-ending scroll of niche vehicles on offer!
The introduction of the new search categories on Autotrader looks to make it easier for car buyers to find the right type of car for them, more quickly. With the recent influx of new brands entering the market over the last few years (there are now 72 brands selling cars in the UK) its only added to the choice and often confusion for buyers trying to find the right car for them.
