With Christmas Day fast approaching, many people will be thinking about getting everything ready - especially the food, decorations, and presents. However, according to a recent survey from Auto Trader, something else we should also prepare for is family debates around the dinner table. In fact, 60% admit to having debates during the festive season, and 20% say these occur frequently!

New research from Auto Trader reveals that one of the top five most debated topics among families during the festive period is the environment and climate change (18%).

Christmas time is one of the key points in the year where we spend time with family and our research shows that lively debates take place over Christmas in a whopping 60% of families. Debates are a great opportunity to learn and share knowledge with loved ones, and we hope that our fact sheet on electric vehicles will help those who find themselves trying to convince their families (over Christmas pudding) that the switch to electric isn’t as scary as it might seem initially.

To help navigate debates around electric vehicles (EVs) this Christmas, Auto Trader is dispelling the most common EV myths. Whilst many believe that all EVs are expensive, one in three second-hand electric vehicles are under £20,000. Furthermore, charging isn’t as difficult as some believe, as there are over 72,000 charge points in the UK.

Auto Trader are sharing The Facts on electric vehicles, in conjunction with The Society of Motor Manufacturers and ChargeUK in a handy graphic – perfect for helping getting the facts straight on electric cars this Christmas:
