Media alert: EV interest soars ahead of Monday’s grant portal launch
Ahead of the launch of the Government portal for Electric Car Grants on Monday, please find relevant stats from the Auto Trader website showing the rising interest in EVs since the Government announcement in July.
“Consumer interest in electric vehicles has certainly been sparked by the Electric Car Grant and ahead of Monday’s portal launch we can see MG, Renault and Skoda models currently the most popular. New EVs priced under £37,000 on Autotrader have taken a higher share [up 10 percentage points] of advert views since the launch and since their eligibility announcement, Citroen models have also grown in popularity. On top of this, over a dozen brands are now offering their own version of the grant to entice drivers, with interest in some brands trebling on the Autotrader site.”
